Center for the Study of the Islamic Republic Iran St. Petersburg State University “Collegium Iranicum”

The Center for the Study of the Islamic Republic of Iran was established on April 2, 2018 to develop interdisciplinary research in the field of Iranics at St. Petersburg State University and to develop partnerships with Iranian universities and state organizations partners of St. Petersburg State University.

At the closing ceremony of the V annual forum of Iranian scholars and teachers of the Persian language in Russia, a gratitude was awarded to St. Petersburg University for its contribution to the development of Iranian studies and the teaching of the Persian language.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran, Professor of St. Petersburg State University, Mr. Mehdi Sanai, noted the work of the founders, workers and thinkers of the Center for the Study of the Islamic Republic of Iran, St. Petersburg State University.

Today, this center is one of the most dynamic centers of Iranian studies and the Persian language in the Russian Federation, and I hope that this trend will continue in the future. - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran (2013-2019), Professor of St. Petersburg State University, Mr. Mehdi Sanai

Separately, the diplomat expressed gratitude to the rector of St. Petersburg University Nikolai Kropachev and his colleagues for the efforts that were made to develop and enhance scientific and university ties between Russia and Iran.
